About Us

ET Electric is the shop of Erik Taylor, a licensed California electrical contractor based in Chilcoot, in the Sierra Valley. The short version: custom lighting is the craft, NEC engineering is the method, and every job — from a service call to a full panel upgrade — gets both.

Most electricians install fixtures. We build them. ET Electric's lead offering is custom lighting design and fabrication — one-off pieces designed for the room they'll live in, built by hand, and installed on circuits engineered to carry them. The portfolio on this site is real work from real projects, not stock photography.

Every install is engineered per NEC calculations before the first wire is pulled: conductor sizing, load calculations, voltage drop over the actual run. That rigor matters everywhere, and it matters more in the mountains, where long runs, electric heat, and EV charging add up to loads that guesswork doesn't cover. If a number decides it, we calculate the number.

ET Electric holds California C-10 license #1156091 and works out of Chilcoot, CA 96105, serving Sierra Valley, Truckee, and the greater Lake Tahoe area, along with surrounding mountain communities. Beyond lighting, the day-to-day work covers electrical panel upgrades, EV charger installation, lighting design and installation, and electrical repairs and complex troubleshooting — including the intermittent faults other outfits walk away from.
